Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Megan was raised in a traditional Jewish home but did not consider herself religious.
Megan traveled to Israel on Taglit Birthright and, as a student at CU-Boulder, found Adventure Rabbi, a congregation that celebrates Jewish holidays in the outdoors. "I loved the fact that we were in the outdoors and being Jewish."
Skiing lured Megan to Crested Butte, where she continued to celebrate Jewish holidays in nature. She felt very much at home in CB and welcomed by B'nai Butte. After three years in Crested Butte, her skiing lured her back to her home state of Utah. She is still the secretary of B'nai Butte and makes appearances among the community occasionally.
